We all knew it was going to happen, but now it has been confirmed. While the PC version of Crash Course, the next downloadable content for Valve's Left 4 Dead, will remain free of charge, Xbox 360 users won't be so lucky.
Microsoft has forced Valve to charge 560 points, or approximately $7.00 (US), for the upcoming DLC. In an interview with Eurogamer, Chet Faliszek said that, "We own our platform, Steam. Microsoft owns their platform. They wanted to make sure there's an economy of value there." He goes on to say that it would be unfair to other developers if Microsoft didn't treat everyone the same. This fits in with Valve charging for the inevitable Team Fortress 2 update for the 360, though this is more understandable.
Crash Course will be released later in September.
