Guitar Hero 5 has been said to be the biggest revolution in Guitar Hero gaming due to its 85 new song titles and downloadable content. Yes the beloved companies of Neversoft and Activision have had another go at showing everyone what it’s like to be your own rock star. They have made some slight modifications to keep you interested, such as the menus where you can instantly jump into the song that’s being played in the background, and the good thing is, is that a friend can jump right in mid-song. Being able to jump in right away without even having to pause the game has made the game a lot more convenient and fun to play.

The track list ranges all over the place in this game which isn’t such a bad thing. You can play songs such as favorites of mine and Jordan’s like, Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc., The Police – So Lonely, Johnny Cash – Ring of fire, and Rammstien – Du Hast. Having more known titles that range for all ages really makes it different to the other Guitar Hero games.

Its compatibility with the Guitar Hero World Tour items such as the drums and microphone also make the game more for everyone. Even though not a lot of people like singing there might be some people out there that may not like the playing of toy guitars but might actually like to sing to the game. Although it can be quite funny when you have a friend singing that actually doesn’t know how to sing. For example, I had Jordan over and I got him to sing So Lonely, it was the funniest thing ever. The subtitles for the singer are helpful of course, but the way you have to keep your voice on those bars can be hard but fun at the same time.

I had myself set up in expert at first because of all the Dragon Force fun on expert on Guitar Hero 3, but found it a lot harder than the previous ones. After a while, you will gradually work your way up to expert in the game and will find it very “challenging” to get your 5 star victories at the end of your song.

There was one thing I couldn’t understand about Guitar Hero 5 and that was that you had to pay to put your Guitar Hero World Tour songs on Guitar Hero 5 when you have both. But I guess it’s just another way for another company to make money.

This was reviewed on the Xbox 360 version and I was glad I did this on the Xbox because I was at first going to get it on the PS3. But I guess the fact that you could have your avatar as your rocker over powered me a little bit.

Features that are on this game include things like, creating your own music and being able to download music created by others. They took out the weird verses that was in Guitar Hero 3 and that basically is it. There are more ups in this game then there are downs and that’s what makes this game special.

To sum it up I would say overall that this game is probable a game you should get, there are DJ Hero and Band Hero coming out around now, but I still believe that you could through amazing parties with this game. I’m going to give it a 9/10 because there is only one thing needed as a DLC for this game….Dragon Force.
